Save a Rhino

Rhinos are hunted and killed for their horns, which are believed to have medicinal powers. Some rhino species are already extinct and at the current rate of poaching there will be no rhinos left in a few years.

The Perfect World Foundation contacted game studio Hello There, to find a way to reach out with this information outside of their normal target audience. Hello There created the game Save a Rhino, in which you play as a rhino trying to avoid evil poachers.

I was the game’s main writer, creating a narrative for the information to be shared within, as well as writing nearly all in-game texts. Information about the rhinos’ situation is shared on game over screens (which you will see a lot, as the game’s difficulty level matches that of a rhino in the wild). Upon completing a level you will get information about wildlife preservation and what you can do to help.
