Give Me a Break

Today, many children diagnosed with cancer are treated successfully, but they are still facing psychological difficulties in the transition to everyday life. To remedy the problem Hello There, CP+B Scandinavia and Halmstad University developed Give Me a Break, a social app for young cancer survivors.

Give Me a Break is a virtual world resembling a schoolyard but with a magic atmosphere. Through the app, children can talk to other children in the same situation. There is also an online youth worker present in the world, encouraging interactions and giving the children fun assignments.

I was a part of the concept development team, as well as the main copywriter for the app. I also lead the internal testing of the app, and facilitated external testing with both healthy children and those diagnosed with cancer.

The app was nominated for the Swedish Design Awards 2015. Read more about the project here or watch a video in Swedish here.
