Bungenäs Chair

Designing the Bungenäs chair and table was my bachelor’s project from the programme Design and Construction at Gotland University.

Bungenäs is a peninsula at the Northern tip of Gotland, an island on the east coast of Sweden. The remote area was first home to a large limestone quarry, followed by Swedish military using it for hostage situation practise. Skälsö Arkitekter have now developed the area, creating a small car free village where all buildings are designed to blend into the area as much as possible.

For Skälsö Arkitekter, I designed a set of outdoor furniture for the Bungenäs area, following the same rough but natural expression. The furniture set is made from Gotlandic pine wood, and designed to use as few dimensions as possible, to keep both construction costs and environmental impact to the minimum.
